Lost in OK

Once again I was beaten to the punch. I had been rambling and boring the hell out of my co-workers on this same subject about two weeks ago. But it looks like someone had already written a whole book on the subject and Joel beat me with the summary. However, this excellent piece points out that there are two radically different cultures between the UNIX (and I’ll even say Open-Source) developers and Windows developers in so far that they are solving two different problems. Finally a voice of reason in the Unix/Linux Rules, Windows Sucks shouting match. Read it here.

Well I just made it without having to make an actual delay in pictures. They’re not great, but I want to go a whole month without a gap at some point.

Icy Trees

We just recently had a little snow here in Oklahoma. Unfortuantely, the trees outside my house weren’t quite ready for it and still had green leaves. Made for a nice contrast shot though. Shot with my Canon S200.

Well I decided to do a little playing around with .NET this evening. You would not believe what a pain it is to connect .NET to a MySQL database. I finally found a nicely written .NET data provider for MySQL from a company called ByteFX. Anyway, now on any of non-blog pages of my site, you can see links to the last two blog posts on the right hand menu. Not too exciting, but kinda fun to build.

Well, there will probably have to be a delay of the picture of the day for awhile. I was going to go and collect new pictures this weekend but then I went and sprained my ankle doing a particularly dangerous Nerf basketball maneuver. Hopefully, by Sunday, I can be back up and running enough to post some images.
