Well, I guess it’s obvious that I survived New Orleans despite my lack of posting during my stay. Coherent thought is not one of the common experiences of the Big Easy and I thought my delirious ramblings might not be the best reflection of my intellect to my faithful readers. However, it is safe to say that a good time was had. We saw some great acts, drank more than necessary and ate fabulous meals.

Well, here’s the first gallery of my New Orleans vacation. I spent all of yesterday driving and driving hard so the gallery is pretty small. A twelve hour drive primarily in rainy conditions doesn’t leave much time for photography. However, this trip was fun. I camped last night in beautiful Tickfaw state park, which I highly recommend. However, if you decide to visit in early spring, bring bug spray and lots of it or you’ll bleed to death, I assure you. Woke up early this morning, had breakfast at a charming little diner and made my way into New Orleans along I-55 which I have renamed the bayou highway. A miracle of modern engineering, I-55 runs for 50 miles elevated high above marshland as far as the eye can see. Just got checked into the hotel and got a much needed shower. More soon . .
