Birthday

So I’ve spent the whole day feeling pretty rotten, floating in and out of a NyQuil coma. However, being sick on a rainy day is good encouragement to work on some photos. These are from way back in March which should give you an idea of how far behind I am. In any case, below are a series of photo’s from Grace’s nephew Ethan’s birthday party. This ninja themed party was perfect for some great action shots though there is also something a little frightening about how much children relish a sword fight.

Today was Gwen’s official 16th birthday (we had a second party the next weekend for those who couldn’t make it).  It has been truly one of the best experiences of my life to get to know this remarkable young woman over the last couple of years.

It was a weekend of families and children.  It started off with Grace’s niece Avery’s second birthday.  I just loved the way the light highlighted her face.

So this year for my birthday, I got an awesome present. My girlfriend got us tickets to the Pixies at the Brady Theater, not to mention a room at historic Mayo Hotel and a little yellow sports car to drive up Route 66 for the show. Here is my gallery from the concert:
